Hun Manet Says the Royal Government Focuses on the Sustainability of Education

PHNOM PENH: Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party and Chairman of the Youth of the Central Committee of the CPP, Hun Manet, has said that in addition to supporting parents and guardians in all efforts to facilitate the education of youth, particularly young women and children, the government has set a goal to ensure the sustainability of this opportunity for the present and the future. Hun Manet made this statement during a meeting with members of the CPP, professors, technical teachers, staff, and students of technical and vocational education and training in Phnom Penh on Monday, 30 May.

Hun Manet said that in order to achieve this sustainability of education for youth, the Royal Government has identified three important tasks: to protect peace, maintain stability, security and public order, and strengthen further development.

He said, "These factors can be stabilized depending on the vision and leadership skills as well as the practical activities of the national leadership, with the participation of willing operators, a strong commitment and real ability to build, protect and develop the country by establishing a bright future for the people.

With the guarantee of good education, the Royal Government will continue to pay attention to ensuring a broader work and business environment by: increasing decent employment opportunities and high productivity, expanding the scope and efficiency of employment and employment services, better responding to consumer needs, strengthening labor platform mechanisms, increasing the collection, dissemination and mainstreaming of labor market information, strengthening mechanisms to control the use of labor in the country, protecting Cambodian migrant workers abroad, increasing productivity of the current labor force, and expanding the job market, vocational training and employment services.

He further added, "Technical and vocational education and training plays an important role in achieving a wider work and business environment. Obviously, the ability of our students in this field is becoming more recognized both nationally and internationally, as well as through the high demand present in the labor market."

In 2022, Cambodia will continue to organize the 5th National Technical and Vocational Education and Training Day (TVET DAY) under the theme "TVET to increase productivity and high competitiveness,” in order to promote TVET and work, disseminate this information to students, youth, parents, guardians, workers, employers, the private sector, and the public to better understand the importance of TVET in the development of a skilled and efficient workforce to meet market needs, and highlight job opportunities both in the country and abroad.

Hun Manet said that voting for the CPP to lead the country is a vote for oneself, one’s family and one’s society, by ensuring stability and opportunities for an optimistic future.

According to a report by Heng Sour on the work activities of Group 18 youth activists, especially on the road to the 5th Mandate Commune / District Council Election, Group 18 Youth Activists have so far established branches in educational institutions with 24 technical and vocational training centers in 13 provincial capitals, totaling 6,818 members, including leaders, professors, technical teachers, staff, and students of TVET. Group 18 youth activists have also been actively involved in party and social work, including contributing to Hun Manet's 33-hour mission to transform The Great Duke Hotel into a Covid-19 Hospital, the Covid-19 vaccination campaign for government officials, factory workers, enterprises and private companies under the subcommittee on vaccination and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, along with many other tasks.
